Here’s what is going on this week thanks to Baby Center:
Your baby’s skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she’s around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
How your life’s changing:
You may also notice your eyes becoming drier. Using over-the-counter lubricating drops may help. If your contact lenses become uncomfortable, try wearing them for shorter stretches of time. If you still have discomfort, switch to glasses until after you give birth.
How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain: 5 lbs
Maternity clothes? I just got a pair of Paige maternity jeans off of Craigslist for $5. The score of the century! I am loving how comfortable they are since there are no buttons or zippers digging into me!
Stretch marks? No.
Sleep: Sleeping great this week!
Best moment this week: Seeing our baby girl at the anatomy scan on Thursday! I will share those details soon.
Miss Anything? I took the kids to Mulligan’s today. It’s a family fun center here. We played miniature golf, ate pizza, and the kids rode on the go-karts. I totally wished I could have went go-karting with them. It looked like so much fun! Definitely on the post pregnancy list for sure 🙂
Movement: I am loving the little kicks I am feeling throughout the day. Especially at night when I am laying in bed saying my prayers. The gratitude I feel towards this amazing miracle of a baby, brings me to tears many nights as I lay there and feel those precious kicks.
Food cravings: Spaghetti with meatballs. YUM!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender prediction: It was confirmed for a second time that we are definitely having a GIRL!!!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Still having a few headaches a week.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: So very happy!
Looking forward to: Officially buying some pink! We were waiting until after the anatomy scan to make sure that the early gender prediction at 14 weeks was accurate before we really started buying anything. Now that it is confirmed…I can’t wait to start shopping and decorating her nursery!
